The Hike

Today I hiked Cowles Mountain in San Diego. The trail was pretty crowded when we started (around 8am) and only continued to get more crowded as the day continued. I think this was because of how local the trail was compared to others that typically take at least an hour to get to.

The trail itself is not difficult at all. It is at an incline the entire way but very short. Hiking up to the summit probably only takes 30 minutes. If you want to extend your hike and make your trip worthwhile (in my opinion), continue down the other side of the mountain and then back track. It does seem counter productive but the trail down the other side is much nicer then the main entrance trail and only after hiking down and then back up and then back down does this seem like a real hike.

All in all, Cowles mountain was fun but it's more of a casual hike than it is a challenging hike which was what I was hoping for.
