The Hike

Today I hiked the Lost Dog to Sunrise Peak trail at McDowell mountain. The hike was much better than last week's hike because it was a step up in difficulty. I always enjoy difficult hikes.

It began with this annoying loose rock path that eventually turned into a typical dirt path. For a few minutes, the trail is just mild incline, but quickly the incline becomes worse. You hike through multiple switchbacks and on both sides you can see the city below.

Overall, I guess what made it so nice for me was the trail variety I experienced on the hike as well as the difficulty.

The Hike

Today I hiked the Bell Pass Trail in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a nice, moderate, hike for being away from hiking for some time. The beginning was mostly flat with tiny incline, and then the last half was a more challenging incline. The scenery was mostly desert and I was constantly surrounded by cacti of all varieties. At the top, you were greeted with a view of the Scottsdale valley. In total, the trail covered an elevation of 1,500 ft.

In terms of popularity, the trail was pretty populated but it could have been because we began at 9 am and it was a Sunday.
