Del Norte Redwood State Park Millcreek Campground (Pacific Coast Highway Roadtrip)

Tired, we rolled up to the entrance of Mill Creek Campgrounds in the Del Norte Redwood State Park.

Location: Mill Creek Campground, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park., Crescent City, CA 95531
Site: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=414

I couldn't make a reservation online but I saw that they had first come first serve walk-ins for one night stays. We crossed our fingers as the ranger looked for campsite openings.

The campsite was great, it had a fire pit, table, bear box, and flat ground to set up tent on. The bathrooms were just two sites away and clean as hell. People were on our left and right, but there was sufficient distance and noise levels were respectable. All in all, a great place to stop and camp.

Although we didn't do it, I would highly suggest The Damnation Trail. We woke up late and had another hike that we wanted to do so we skipped the Damnation trail. The weather wasn't that good either so we were concerned that there wouldn't be much of a view. But it sounds like a great hike that goes from forest to beach, so check it out!
